Tour of the Zikmund Villa
Neither a museum nor an artificially created exhibition, but an authentic space just as traveller Miroslav Zikmund used it for almost 70 years. Unique architecture, a unique preserved interior, an unforgettable story. This is the Zikmund Villa. A place where you can meet the whole world.
What is visiting the villa like?
During the guided tour of the interior, you will pass through the entrance hall, the library, and the living room. You will go upstairs, where you can step into the guest room and peek into the private bedroom. Afterwards, you can enter the darkroom and the bathroom with the gym. From there, you can look into the heart of the house – Miroslav Zikmund’s study.
The excursion ends by passing through the technical facilities, including the film laboratory. In dry weather, the route is extended onto the terrace of the house. After the tour, you will have the opportunity to walk through the garden yourself.

How to get here?
The Zikmund Villa is only accessible on foot from the lower gate in Pod Nivami Street. (We only use the main gate from Žlebová Street for events with a higher number of visitors.) Parking for people with reduced mobility is possible by prior arrangement. However, the building itself is not barrier-free.
Are you coming to Zlín by bus or train?
You can walk to the villa. At a slow walk, you can reach the lower gate from the bus and train stations in 25 minutes. You can also use public transport. From the “U zámku” stop, which is the closest to both stations, the number 8 bus goes in our direction. The destination station is called “Cygánov”. From there, it is a 5-minute walk to the lower gate of the Zikmund Villa.
Are you coming by car?
You can park on Pod Nivami Street or in the car park by the Cigánov bus stop. From there, it is a 5-minute walk to the lower entrance to the Zikmund Villa complex. Thank you for not entering by the Žlebová Street gate, which is intended for use by the nursing home in the neighbouring Hanzelka Villa.
