In 2022, we received an EEA grant to get started. Thanks to the open call for the Innovative Use of Movable and Immovable Cultural Heritage from the Culture programme, we have been implementing the two-year project, the Zikmund Villa – a gateway to the world, since May of the same year. The goal of the project is to prepare the cultural monument for public access and the start of the programme itself. This includes, for example, guided tours, talks, and exhibitions.

The partners of the project are the Muzeum Kon-Tiki and Technologické inovační centrum Zlín.

 

Overview of project activities implemented so far:

  • We have ensured the regular care of the villa and the garden
  • We have created a website
  • In 2022, we participated in the Zlín Film Festival, Zlín Design Week, the Z nohy na nohu (From One Foot to Another) project, and the Takoví jsme byli? 2 (Were we like that? 2) exhibition
  • We started a series of lectures “Setkání na koži” (Meeting on the Skin). (We regularly post on YouTube.)
  • We made a portfolio of promotional photos of the cultural monument
  • We inventoried the books and collection items, and made photo documentation
  • We worked out the operational building plan for the villa, wrote the script for the tours, employed guides, and started guided tours for the public
